Nostalgic Memoirs Of 90's Video Games
79The Game That Took The World By Storm
90's Videogames Changed Society Forever
I remember back in 1989, my Mother bought me the very first Nintendo on Christmas Day. I don't know what went through her mind when she bought it. I do know that was the single greatest moment of my life. A four-year-old getting his already big head filled up with some creative animations that just took over my mind.
The memories of Super Mario Bros and playing Duck Hunt with the Nintendo zapper gun. Till this day, that was the last time I ever wanted to hold a gun. That was the beauty of the very first Nintendo. In the early 90's, it was all a video game. Nothing to think destructive about. It came with accessories to make the system better as well.
Nintendo had the Zapper gun. They had the Power Pad exercise mat, where you had to step on buttons to control the game. The U-Force 3-D controller that sense the nerve movements of the hand over the surface. We can't forget about the infamous Power Glove. For the deeper lovers, the Robotic Operating Buddy (R.O.B.), which was made for video game haters. It was a robot game.
The Nintendo was the new revolution.
That's when the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise felt the need to make a competition with the Nintendo. Nintendo retaliated and enhance their system into a Super Nintendo.
The best part about the 90's video games were the video games itself. The Mario Bros. and Sonic classics are still being played till this very day. Remember blowing the cartridges of video games that weren't working at the time? Then, you would blow the system to make sure the dust was gone.
Streetfighter, Mortal Kombat, Techmo Super Bowl, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid all were franchise games. They continue to create multiple versions of it's original. Some of these games still being played till this very day. We must give respect to the 20+ consecutive years of Madden classics?
The 90's was a decade that was different from any other in history. The 80's had the Atari but you weren't able to shoot down ducks with a zapper. You had a joystick and a box. I do love the Pac-Man classics but that was it about the joystick system.
Nintendo and Sega franchises brought another dimension to video games that changed society forever. In my opinion, Nintendo gets the nod for best system of all-time. They continued to become better each and every year for 22 years and counting.
We're now into 2011. We have Playstation 3, XBox 360, and Nintendo Wii. I'm now 26-years-old. I've been playing Nintendo since I was 1989. This is a part of my life I don't have anymore. I miss the golden days of video games. Since I don't play video games anymore, I only play the Love Game.

Thanks, I will ask his mom if he has any of the games you mentioned. I'd rather not take him to the store, it's sort of a surprise cause we haven't seen him for a long time.
I might actually get the PS3 and some other games for him.

What would you recommend getting my nephew for his birthday? He has an xbox. I'm a bit out of touch, the last game I played was donkey cong; on something older than he is. :)
